Chubb, a leading global insurance provider, has announced two key appointments in its Latin American leadership team to drive growth and enhance client service across Latin America’s rapidly developing markets.
The company has named Mario Romanelli as regional president of South America and Diego Sosa as regional president of Northern Latin America.
The appointments, effective immediately, will see both Romanelli and Sosa reporting directly to Chubb Group’s executive vice president and president of Chubb Overseas General, Paul McNamee.
Chubb operates worldwide, delivering a comprehensive suite of insurance products and services across commercial and personal lines.
Operating in 54 countries, it’s offerings include property and casualty insurance, personal accident coverage, supplemental health, reinsurance, and life insurance, which cater to a diverse clientele.
The company is renowned for its financial strength, expansive product range, and extensive distribution capabilities.
In his new role as regional president, South America, Romanelli will oversee Chubb’s operations across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, in addition to leading the regional office in Miami.
Sosa, as regional president, Northern Latin America, will continue managing Chubb’s business operations in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and in specific markets such as Panama and Puerto Rico.
Both Romanelli and Sosa are highly experienced leaders within Chubb, each bringing extensive regional knowledge and expertise to their roles.
Paul McNamee, executive vice president, Chubb Group and president of Chubb Overseas General, expressed strong confidence in the leadership shift, underscoring the company’s commitment to client service and regional growth.

The appointments come as Federico Spagnoli, who previously served as regional president for Latin America, departs Chubb to explore new professional opportunities.
