Climate X integrates Fathom flood model for global insight

Climate X, a global leader in climate risk intelligence and resilience analytics, has partnered with Fathom, a pioneer in flood risk modelling, to deliver the most comprehensive and actionable global climate model stack available.

The collaboration integrates Fathom’s Global Flood model into Climate X’s platforms, combining water, wind, fire, and earth perils with adaptation intelligence to enhance data-driven decision-making.

The partnership aims to address the growing financial and infrastructural losses caused by natural flooding events, which have disrupted economies worldwide. Between 2018 and 2023, global losses from flooding exceeded $100bn annually in four of the five years, underscoring the need for data-led insights that protect assets and maintain business continuity, Fathom noted.

Climate X specialises in modelling 12 distinct physical climate hazards, such as extreme heat, wildfires, tropical cyclones, and landslides. The company’s solutions translate complex physical risk data into actionable insights—covering operating expenditure, capital expenditure, and revenue impact—helping organisations manage exposure, comply with regulatory requirements, and develop profitable adaptation strategies.

Fathom’s Global Flood model enhances Climate X’s Spectra and Adapt platforms by adding millions of simulated flood events. This integration allows users to estimate financial losses at both portfolio and asset levels, quantifying risk across multiple future climate scenarios.

The new product offering will be available to both new and existing clients starting in early 2026.

Fathom chief sales officer and head of ESG & climate risk Karena Vaughan said, “Fathom is thrilled about this collaboration, which showcases the value of cross-industry partnerships in advancing climate risk understanding. By combining Fathom’s independently validated flood data with Climate X’s cutting-edge climate risk analytics, we’re equipping the industry to access more precise, science-based insights that will help asset owners adapt and invest with confidence.”

Climate X COO and co-founder Kamil Kluza said, “This partnership marks an important step forward for Climate X clients, adding world-class flood intelligence from Fathom to our already advanced models[…] Integrating Fathom’s models into our product suite reinforces Climate X’s position as the global leader in climate resilience.”
