DXC Technology has launched a new suite of Assure Smart Apps designed to help insurers accelerate AI-driven transformation and modernise operations without large-scale system overhauls.
The modular applications combine DXC’s insurance expertise with ServiceNow’s agentic AI and workflow technology, providing insurers with pre-built, AI-enabled workflows designed to deliver measurable business outcomes in 12 weeks or less.
Built on the DXC Assure Platform, the Smart Apps aim to help insurers address rising customer expectations, regulatory pressures and operational complexity, particularly where legacy systems and siloed data slow down transformation initiatives.
According to DXC, the applications can reduce manual processes by 30–40% and cut process cycle times by around 30%, allowing insurers to modernise incrementally without disrupting existing core systems.
The new applications were introduced at the DXC Connect Insurance Executive Forum, the company’s annual customer event for the insurance sector.
Three new Smart Apps were launched as part of the announcement:
- Claims Assistant, which streamlines the claims lifecycle, embeds compliance checks and reduces claims cycle times by up to 35%, enabling faster payouts and improved policyholder experiences.
- Engagement Assistant, which enhances customer interaction across voice, digital and back-office channels by orchestrating AI agents, human agents and analytics, improving customer experience by 5–15%.
- Underwriter Assistant, which supports underwriting teams by automating submission intake, prioritising workloads and guiding decision-making through an explainable underwriting workbench.
Michael Park, SVP of Global Partnerships and Channels at ServiceNow, said, “By bringing together ServiceNow’s agentic AI and workflow technology and DXC’s deep insurance industry expertise, we’re redefining what’s possible in insurance operations. Together, we’re helping carriers accelerate transformation, delivering greater agility and speed across every process.”
DXC also introduced the Assure Smart App Studio, a collaborative innovation environment where insurers can co-develop new AI-powered applications. At the forum, DXC engineers demonstrated the concept by prototyping new AI agents overnight and presenting them the following day.
Ray August, President of DXC Insurance Software and Business Process Services, said “The inspiration for Smart Apps was meeting our customers where they are and creating a pathway for incremental transformation. We are proud to innovate alongside our customers to build solutions that advance their technology infrastructure without disrupting operations.
We are helping them modernsze at their own pace while delivering tangible business results.”
DXC said the initiative forms part of its broader effort to support insurers in adopting AI-driven capabilities to improve operational efficiency, speed to market and customer experience.
