Vertafore, a Denver-based insurance technology provider, has launched an AI agent designed to reduce the time required to set up employee benefit plans, targeting a key administrative challenge for brokers during peak benefits season.
The Vertafore Velocity AI Benefit Plan Agent is embedded within BenefitPoint, the benefits module of the company’s AgencyOne platform. Users can upload supported carrier plan documents, allowing the AI to extract and organise key plan information before it is reviewed and approved by a human.
Vertafore said the agent can achieve 90% accuracy and reduce plan setup times by up to 70%, enabling agencies to complete workflows that previously required extensive manual data entry and document review in a matter of minutes.
The launch reflects a broader shift across insurance technology, with providers increasingly embedding AI agents into operational workflows to automate repetitive processes while maintaining human oversight of key decisions.
The Benefit Plan Agent is built on Vertafore’s Velocity AI Platform, part of the company’s wider strategy to embed AI across insurance distribution workflows spanning sales, servicing, accounting, underwriting and back-office operations.

Instead of spending hours entering data, I can focus on validating it.”
