Zing365 unveils outcomes-based learning platform for insurers

Zing365, a learning solutions provider built specifically for the insurance sector, has introduced a new platform aimed at helping firms prove staff competence rather than simply track course completion.

The Zing365 Learning Platform was unveiled at Broker Expo and brings training needs, professional development, assessment and evidence of competence together within a single outcomes-based system. Attendees at the company’s stand at the event are able to see live demonstrations of how the platform links learning activity to measurable results.

The platform is structured around a four-part competence cycle. It first uses a Training Needs Analysis tool and an insurance-specific Competency Framework to pinpoint where an individual’s knowledge or skills fall short of their role’s requirements.

Staff are then pointed towards suitable development resources, drawing on Zing365’s catalogue of over 350 insurance-focused courses and webinars as well as a firm’s own materials.

Scenario-based assessments are used to check whether staff can put their learning into practice in realistic situations, going beyond standard multiple-choice testing.

Finally, the system generates a record showing how each gap was identified, addressed and assessed.

All three core tools arrive pre-loaded with insurance sector best practice but can be fully customised, letting firms adapt roles, competencies, content and assessment criteria to their own operations rather than working from a fixed template.

Zing365 managing director James Read said, “Training has traditionally been measured by hours completed rather than capability gained. But completing a course doesn’t mean that someone can apply that knowledge effectively in their day-to-day role.

“The FCA’s changes make that distinction increasingly important. Firms need to demonstrate competence beyond participation, and this means organisations understanding where knowledge gaps exist within operations and teams, address them directly, and then evidence that learning has had a marked impact.

“That’s exactly where the new Zing365 platform comes in to solve. Most learning platforms measure completion. We go much further: identify the gap, deliver targeted learning, assess outcomes and provide a clear evidence trail.”
