Savvy opens insurance shopping platform to AI agents

Engine by Gen, the embedded finance marketplace from Gen Digital, has introduced a new insurance shopping platform that allows AI agents to compare cover on behalf of consumers while limiting how their personal data is shared.

The website forms part of Savvy, Engine’s insurance marketplace, and is designed to support AI agents that compare insurance products on behalf of consumers. The launch comes as AI agents such as Muse and Instinct are increasingly being used for shopping and research, while some marketplaces have restricted or blocked access from automated agents.

Savvy has made its platform accessible to AI agents and consolidated most of its questions onto a single page. This allows an AI assistant to collect the information required to search for insurance without repeatedly returning to the consumer for additional details.

The platform first provides rate estimates based on policies recently purchased by customers with similar profiles. Contact information is only requested if the initial estimates are considered competitive, with any details provided remaining with Savvy.

Engine said the approach is intended to reduce the number of calls, texts and emails consumers may receive when AI agents access individual insurer websites. The company also said the model could reduce the volume of data requests generated by automated agents accessing insurers’ platforms.

The launch forms part of Engine’s plans to connect its marketplace with AI agents and assistants, creating links between consumers, the agents acting on their behalf and insurance providers.

Engine operates an embedded finance marketplace that provides financial and insurance product recommendations through a network of integrated providers. Its services are available through apps, websites and other digital channels.

The company’s parent, Gen Digital, owns consumer brands including Norton, Avast, LifeLock and MoneyLion and operates across more than 150 countries.

The launch also builds on Gen’s work around infrastructure for AI agents. The company introduced its Agent Trust Hub earlier in 2026 and has since launched VPN for Agents, designed to secure connections used by AI agents, and AI Data Checker, which provides information about how AI services handle user data.

Engine by Gen head Chris Schellens said, “AI agents are quickly becoming a popular way to get advice, but asking an agent to find car insurance is fundamentally different from asking it to find a new pair of sneakers. When AI agents shop for insurance without using Savvy, people quickly lose control over their personal information as AI may share it with untold insurance websites, which leads to spam and risk of identity theft. When AI agents use the new Savvy website, shoppers can get rate estimates anonymously and can get personalized quotes without getting contacted by multiple insurers.”
