CLARA Analytics, a leading provider of AI-driven technology for insurance claims optimisation, has announced two significant executive hires.

Robin Spaulding has joined the company as chief insurance officer, while Greg Toll has been named vice president of sales for the self-insured segment.

These appointments bring decades of leadership experience to CLARA, further bolstering its position in the InsurTech industry.

CLARA Analytics is at the forefront of leveraging artificial intelligence to revolutionise the insurance claims process.

The company provides advanced AI solutions that enhance claims outcomes through claim guidance and document intelligence. Its platform is designed to empower insurance carriers, managing general agents (MGAs), reinsurers, and self-insured organisations by optimising their claims processes and improving overall results.

Spaulding, a seasoned insurance executive with deep expertise in property and casualty insurance, will serve as the chief insurance officer.

She has an extensive background, having held various roles in the insurance industry, from claim representative trainee to divisional vice president of claims at Great American Insurance Company.

Most recently, Spaulding was the global head of claims for Capgemini’s insurance practice in the financial services division. Her experience spans multiple carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and managed care organisations, making her a valuable asset to CLARA’s leadership team.

Toll, the new vice president of sales for the self-insured segment, brings a wealth of experience in sales leadership within the insurance industry.

Before joining CLARA, Toll served as senior vice president at Marsh and held senior roles at Broadspire, York Risk, and CorVel Corporation.

He began his career as a claims adjuster at Liberty Mutual Insurance, eventually moving into claims management and carrier relations. His proven track record in driving revenue growth will be instrumental in executing CLARA’s aggressive expansion strategy in the self-insured market.

In addition to their impressive professional backgrounds, both Spaulding and Toll hold relevant academic qualifications. Spaulding earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in marketing from Drake University, while Toll holds a Bachelor of Science in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MBA in insurance risk management from Concordia University-Wisconsin.

CLARA Analytics was recently named one of the World’s Top InsurTech Companies of 2024 by CNBC and Statista, a testament to its innovative contributions to the industry. The addition of Spaulding and Toll is expected to further propel the company’s growth and market impact.

CLARA CEO Heather H. Wilson, stated, “The insurance industry is a complex ecosystem that requires expertise and real-world experience to understand the tightrope claims professionals walk to improve their claim outcomes while providing a leading customer experience. Robin and Greg have walked in their shoes as former adjusters, claim supervisors at carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators. They know this industry inside and out and have embraced our mission. They will be excellent champions for CLARA as we continue to create and bring to market products that move the needle for the industry.”
