Palantir new deal brings AI deeper into Mexico’s insurance market

Palantir Technologies, an AI software provider, has expanded its partnership with GNP Seguros, Mexico’s largest insurer, as the carrier increases its use of artificial intelligence across claims, underwriting and fraud detection operations.

The expanded enterprise agreement will see GNP Seguros scale its use of Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) across its health, life, motor and property insurance portfolios. The platforms will support the insurer in improving fraud detection, strengthening underwriting decisions and enhancing claims processes through a unified data environment.

The rollout builds on previous deployments where GNP Seguros used Palantir’s technology to identify claims fraud, monitor risk and support underwriting activity. Under the expanded partnership, claims, underwriting, operational and risk data will be brought together into a single AI-powered platform.

By connecting these data sources, GNP Seguros will be able to identify unusual claims patterns before payments are made, generate risk insights more quickly and test underwriting adjustments in near real time. Palantir said the technology is designed to support insurance professionals by improving access to insights while maintaining human oversight, explainability and governance.

The agreement marks a significant step for Palantir’s insurance expansion, with GNP Seguros becoming the company’s first publicly announced commercial customer in Latin America.

GNP Seguros is Mexico’s largest insurer and operates as part of Grupo BAL. The company provides health, life, motor and property insurance products across Mexico.

Palantir develops AI platforms designed to help organisations integrate operational data, automate decision-making processes and deploy enterprise artificial intelligence. Its Foundry and AIP platforms are used to support areas including risk management, operations and analytics.

Palantir vice president for Latin America Eduardo Esteve said, “GNP Seguros is one of Mexico’s most important institutions, and we are proud to see Palantir’s technology become a core foundation for its continued innovation. With Foundry and AIP, GNP Seguros is applying AI-driven decision-making and agentic operations across its business, helping its teams serve millions of people across Mexico more efficiently with the high-quality coverage they deserve.”

GNP Seguros director of information and transformation (CITO) Enrique Ibarra added, “At GNP Seguros, we maintain an ongoing commitment to digital evolution and operational excellence. Being a benchmark for the industry requires us to anticipate the future, partnering with the world’s leading providers to leverage cutting-edge technologies. The integration of advanced platforms, like Foundry and AIP, to unify our data and harness Artificial Intelligence is a natural step in our strategy. By accelerating the generation of critical insights and acting on them immediately, under a strict governance model, we reaffirm our ability to lead the market responsibly, adopting these state-of-the-art capabilities to innovate for the direct benefit of our customers, our sales forces, and Mexican families.”
