InsurTech specialist Targa Telematics has appointed Marco Amendolagine as head of business development insurance, as it looks to build on its usage-based insurance (UBI) capabilities and expand its presence across international markets.
Amendolagine will oversee the next stage of development for the company’s insurance division, with a remit covering growth in Italy and expansion into overseas markets. He will focus on opening new commercial channels, developing the company’s InsurTech offering and strengthening relationships with major insurers and industry partners.
He joins with more than 18 years of international experience spanning InsurTech, telematics and digital innovation. Trained in industrial and mechanical engineering, Amendolagine has held senior management roles focused on business development, product strategy and digital transformation across Europe, North America and Asia.
Targa Telematics provides insurers with a modular technology platform that brings together data from OEM devices, its own connected solutions, smartphones and smart tags. The system can be adapted to individual insurer requirements and is supported by managed services, including operational centres and customer support.
The company’s offering covers insurance telematics, asset and fleet management, vehicle diagnostics and remote telemetry, alongside solutions for professional vehicles, construction fleets and airport vehicle operations.
Founded more than 25 years ago, Targa Telematics works with short- and long-term rental companies, financial services providers and large fleet operators. Viasat Group is also part of the business.
The company has operations in Italy, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Romania and Chile, where dedicated local teams support the delivery of international projects.
The appointment follows recognition of Targa Telematics’ position in the usage-based insurance market. The company ranked first in the European fleet UBI provider category in the latest UBI Global Study published by PTOLEMUS Consulting Group. It also received Frost & Sullivan’s Europe Competitive Strategy Leadership Recognition in 2026 for its fleet management and telematics insurance offering.
