Ethos adds Aflac cancer insurance to independent distribution suite

Ethos, a leading life insurance technology company, has announced a new partnership with Aflac, a major provider of supplemental health insurance in the US.

The partnership has been formed to broaden consumer access to supplemental health protection while reducing the friction traditionally associated with purchasing insurance. By integrating Aflac’s policies directly into Ethos’s digital distribution platform, the companies aim to provide families with faster and simpler access to coverage for out-of-pocket expenses linked to serious health conditions such as cancer.

Ethos operates a three-sided technology platform designed to modernise the life insurance ecosystem for consumers, agents and carriers. The company focuses on delivering instant, accessible protection products through a streamlined online process that removes medical exams and minimises health questions. Its technology-driven approach is designed to make life insurance and related protection products more affordable and easier to access for millions of families.

Through the new partnership, Ethos’s platform now enables consumers to purchase Aflac’s cancer insurance as part of a broader protection journey. The product pays cash benefits directly to policyholders before, during and after a cancer diagnosis, helping to cover medical costs and everyday living expenses throughout treatment and recovery. Benefits begin with annual preventative screenings and continue through the full care lifecycle, with no deductibles and straightforward claims processes.

Aflac senior vice president distribution strategy and operations Jon Edgington said, “At Aflac, we’ve spent decades helping families navigate the financial challenges that can come with a serious health diagnosis.

“By partnering with Ethos, we’re making it easier for people to access the protection they need through Ethos’s seamless digital experience — ensuring that when the unexpected happens, families have the financial support and peace of mind they deserve.”

Ethos vice president insurance products and partnerships Chris Fioritto said, “We’re proud to partner with Aflac to bring their industry-leading supplemental products into the Ethos experience.

“Aflac is synonymous with innovation and trust in supplemental insurance, and our platform was built to help carriers like them expand access to protection products through advanced technology and digital distribution. Together, we’re enabling more families to get the coverage they need — faster, easier, and with less friction.”
