Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a leading provider of executive and professional lines insurance solutions, has announced key leadership changes in its UK operations.
Andrew Hopper has been named head of financial institutions, UK, while Chris Nixon has been promoted to underwriting manager, executive & professional lines, UK.
These moves come as current underwriting manager, Chris Warrior, prepares to retire at the end of the year.
BHSI provides insurance solutions that span executive liability, financial institutions, cyber liability, professional lines, transactional liability, and other coverages in the UK and Europe.
Hopper brings over 20 years of experience in financial lines, specialising in financial institutions.
He previously served as head of financial institutions, UK and Europe, at another prominent insurer. Hopper’s expertise lies in working with brokers and underwriters to deliver tailored solutions for financial institutions. He will be based in London in his new role.
Nixon has been part of BHSI since 2019, initially joining as senior underwriter, UK commercial D&O.
With over a decade of industry experience, he has progressed rapidly within the organisation, most recently holding the title of underwriting manager, commercial management liability, UK. Nixon’s promotion recognises his leadership and expertise in the sector.
These changes also mark the upcoming retirement of Chris Warrior, who has led the executive & professional lines team for the past five years. Warrior’s distinguished 42-year career includes significant contributions to the financial lines market.
Jessica Kirby, head of executive & professional lines, UK, at BHSI, said, “I am extremely proud of the reputation BHSI has established as a trusted long-term partner in the UK executive & professional lines market. I look forward to working with Andrew Hopper and Chris Nixon as we continue to deliver the strength of BHSI and our CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT philosophy to the marketplace. I also want to thank Chris Warrior for his pivotal work building our stellar team, deepening our market relationships, and his significant contribution to our solid portfolio over the past five years. Chris is retiring after a distinguished 42-year career working across the financial lines market. I wish him and his family all the best in his new chapter.”
