AirAsia and Tune Protect, a Malaysia-based InsurTech firm, have partnered to provide enhanced travel coverage for AirAsia flights departing from Singapore.

The move will see the launch of the offering known as AirAsia Comprehensive Travel PLUS, which is set to include innovative features such as cashless hospital admission services, according to InsurTech Insights.

The product ensures travellers have access to seamless medical care abroad without needing upfront payments.

Available via AirAsia’s booking platforms, including the airasia MOVE app, premiums start at SGD28.60 for return trips. The plan includes coverage for trip cancellations, flight delays, and lost or damaged baggage.

AirAsia is a prominent low-cost airline operating across Asia and beyond, renowned for its affordable ticketing options and wide-reaching network.

Tune Protect is a digital-first InsurTech company focusing on creating convenient and accessible insurance products for a tech-savvy audience.

The Cashless Admission service is already available in markets such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, and the companies plan to expand it further into Vietnam and additional regions.

With Europ Assistance’s global network of over 7,500 hospitals, the offering aims to reduce out-of-pocket expenses and provide peace of mind to travellers.

Group CEO of Tune Protect, How Kim Lian, noted the value of the initiative during peak travel seasons, saying: “Travel delays are unsolicited, and we understand the challenges of navigating them when travelling with a big family or managing a busy schedule, especially during peak travel season such as the upcoming year end and school holidays.”

The service goes beyond medical coverage by addressing broader traveller needs. Tune Protect is working to make travel more comfortable, offering solutions such as access to airport lounges to meet the varying demands of families, business travellers, and solo adventurers.

Lian added: “At Tune Protect, we aspire to enhance every aspect of the travel journey to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Whether it is parents seeking a quiet space to manage their children, business travellers needing to catch up on work, or solo travellers wanting a peaceful spot to relax, the access to the airport lounges addresses the needs of every traveller.”
