fileAI, the enterprise intelligence company behind fileForge, the leading platform for complex business process automation, has secured fresh investment from SMBC Asia Rising Fund, the corporate venture capital fund of SMBC, and Singtel Innov8, the corporate venture capital arm of Singtel Group.
The backing arrives as enterprise AI matures across Asia, with fileAI positioning itself as a homegrown regional player pushing into the global market for enterprise-grade artificial intelligence. Beyond the capital itself, the deal reflects how deeply AI is now embedding into core business functions such as finance, compliance, procurement and customer onboarding at large organisations.
The funds will go toward fileAI’s push into Japan and a deeper focus on financial services, as the company grows its AI-native platform for organisations handling large, complicated volumes of files and data. The investment also plugs fileAI further into some of Asia’s most prominent corporate networks.
Alongside the funding news, fileAI has unveiled fileScout, an AI-native tool built to map unstructured data while significantly reducing the token costs typically associated with processing it. Paired with automated data capture, validation, matching and reconciliation, the tool delivers clean, verified and audit-ready records straight into enterprise systems.
The SMBC Asia Rising Fund investment builds on a partnership fileAI struck with JRE Ventures, the venture arm backing the JR East Group, in June 2026. That earlier tie-up laid the groundwork for fileAI’s Japanese footprint and its use of governed AI agents to digitise and structure legacy contracts and operational paperwork.
The latest funding will help fileAI build out a dedicated Japan team spanning sales, engineering and customer success, as it works with enterprises shifting from AI pilots to full production use.
fileAI is the enterprise intelligence company behind fileForge, built to bring structure, validation and traceability to agentic AI in production. The platform brings together data capture, preparation, governance and orchestration into auditable, SOP-driven workflows, turning unstructured and semi-structured data into reusable process intelligence.
Its solutions are used across insurance, banking, accounting, finance and others.
fileAI CEO Christian Schneider said, “AI will become an operating layer for every major enterprise, but that future cannot be built on fragmented data, unreliable outputs or endlessly expanding computing costs.
“Our third-generation processing pipeline and fileScout address that foundation, enabling organisations to transform their most complex unstructured data into trusted intelligence and production-grade workflows. Backed by some of Asia’s most influential corporate ecosystems, fileAI’s ambition is to build a global enterprise AI leader from Asia and to help the region’s businesses become the most AI-enabled organisations in the world.”
Singtel Innov8 managing director Boon Ping Chua said, “Singtel Innov8 is excited to invest in fileAI as it builds a purpose-built AI platform to address one of the most persistent challenges in enterprise data. We believe there is a significant and growing need to turn complex, unstructured information into clean, structured data that enterprises can trust and use at scale. We see strong potential for fileAI as enterprises increasingly seek reliable data foundations to support AI adoption and unlock greater value from their data.”
