Carbon Underwriting Limited, an independent managing general underwriter and Lloyd’s syndicate, has announced the appointment of Alex Poracchia as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately.
As CFO, Poracchia will oversee Carbon’s global financial operations and contribute to strengthening the firm’s capabilities.
His role will be pivotal in navigating the opportunities ahead and maintaining Carbon’s trajectory of success.
Founded five years ago, Carbon blends innovation and technology with authentic leadership to redefine delegated authority insurance.
It is renowned for technological advancements within the delegated authority sector. Most recently, it deployed integrated GenAI to enhance data cleansing and bordereaux preparation within its market-leading platform, Graphene.
The company was the first Lloyd’s Syndicate-In-a-Box to graduate into full Lloyd’s Syndicate status, with its flagship Syndicate 4747 achieving some of the largest annual GWP stamp increases in the market.
He also held consulting positions with Deloitte in actuarial and finance. His extensive career spans established organisations and fast-growing businesses, equipping him with the expertise to support Carbon’s ambitious growth plans.
