Orion180, a leading provider of innovative insurance solutions, has announced a leadership reshuffle designed to further its expansion.
The company has appointed former The Hartford executive Chris DiMartino as chief underwriting officer and promoted its chief operations officer, Ryan Jesenik, to president, insurance.
The Floridian firm specialises in providing technology-driven insurance solutions, offering surplus and personal lines products to homeowners and businesses.
The company has gained recognition for its rapid growth, securing a place on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for two consecutive years.
DiMartino brings 27 years of experience in underwriting, actuarial science, and product management in both commercial and personal lines property and casualty (P&C) insurance.
Before joining Orion180, he was senior vice president of insurance services at AAA Northeast. He also spent over 20 years at The Hartford, where he most recently served as head of product for its $3bn personal lines business.
DiMartino holds several industry designations, including Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and is a licensed attorney.
Orion180 CEO and founder Ken Gregg welcomed DiMartino’s addition, stating that his extensive expertise in underwriting and product management will be instrumental in expanding the company’s product offerings and market reach.
“Bringing Chris on board marks a pivotal step in our company’s evolution,” Orion180 CEO Ken Gregg said. “His deep expertise in underwriting and product management will be critical in enhancing our portfolio as we continue to aggressively grow product lines and expand to other States.”
Alongside this appointment, Ryan Jesenik has been promoted to president, insurance, while continuing in his role as COO. In his expanded position, Jesenik will oversee growth strategy and ensure the company’s operations align with long-term objectives.
During Jesenik’s tenure, Orion180 has grown its in-force premium to $263m and launched key insurance products, including homeowners, FLEX, and private residential flood insurance. He also played a key role in the development of MY180, an innovative app that enables agents to generate quotes and manage their business efficiently.
Gregg praised Jesenik’s contributions, highlighting his role in driving Orion180’s expansion and positioning it as one of the fastest-growing home insurance providers in the U.S.
“Ryan has been instrumental in helping Orion180 become one of the fastest growing home insurance companies in the U.S.,” said Gregg. “I look forward to our continued work together, advancing our vision of offering consumers and agents greater choice and unmatched flexibility to meet their ever-changing needs.”
